Description
Development in the field of Computer Science is very rapid and it also has wide spread impact on society. Use of Information Technology has become an integral part of everyone’s routine. Requirement driven research and development approach opens a window for plethora of opportunities and options for innovative development and useful implementations. The talk will introduce some such interesting developments in the field, not focusing on a specific field or topic.

High performance computing has completely transformed the way in which simulation and modelling is done. Backend of computing infrastructure includes an important activity of job or task scheduling for optimizing resource utilisation. Combinational Backfill algorithm to address scheduling will be discussed. User identification in the cyber world has witnessed some very interesting and innovative ideas, one interesting development, nicknamed as Cognitive OTP will be discussed. Finding a solution to certain computer network related problems using machine learning techniques is also intended to be explored.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Anil Rawat joined Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore in 1988 after a four year stint in industry and academic institutes. He had acquired degree of Bachelor of Engineering from Jabalpur Engineering College in Electronic and Telecommunication (in 1984), Master of Engineering (in 1990) and PhD (in 2008) from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.

He played a crucial role to establish state of art facilities for computing, networking, information management and communication at RRCAT and he has been associated with the activity almost since inception of RRCAT. He is also a member of Computer Installation and Security Advisory Group of DAE and has served as technical expert in many committees. His research interests includes computer network security and information management applications.
