Description
The presence of physics beyond the standard model of particle physics ("new physics") from various considerations. Polarization can serve as a useful tool for unravelling new physics as well as getting more information on new interactions. Polarized beams will be available at a future electron-positron linear collider. Longitudinal and transverse polarizations of electron and positron beams can play an important role in extracting information on new physics. In the less distant future, top polarization at the LHC can serve as an important too for studying new physics. At the same time methods of meauring top polarization have to contend with contamination from new physics. Top polarization can shed light on production mechanisms of top quarks in various new physics scenarios.
