Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are charge density waves localized at a metal-dielectric interface. Geometry defined dispersion in patterned surfaces (plasmonic crystals) were used in physics, chemistry, biology and engineering studies. Broadband, dispersionless structures would help address basic questions like, “is the plasmon dynamics independent of the metal bandstructure?”. Among such structures, a plasmonic quasicrystal (PlQC) offers rich physics in its near- and far-field optical response like sub-wavelength hot spots (related to super oscillations), long propagating modes (topological pathways), strong local fields (harmonic generation), modulation of optical properties (magneto-plasmonics). I will present basic properties and plasmon dynamics in PlQCs followed by some intriguing results related to beam shifts and charge transport in PlQC - organic semiconductor complexes.
