About the Speakers:

Mr. Pradeep Jhunjhunwala (The Economics of Cloud-based Computing):
Pradeep currently leads a team of cloud solution Architects for Microsoft Azure India for partners (OCP). He has over 20 years of successful technology experience, with a broad skill set in building strategy, architecture and consulting. Started his career as an Infrastructure engineer for end-user computing and moved to Datacenter. The biggest core strength of Pradeep is to understand the business problem and build IT solution to solve those. Apart from this, he has the knowledge and experience to take the project from concept to design and delivery across different segments like India PSU, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas to global majors with experience spanning pre-sales across enterprises, SMB and global enterprise.

Dr. Mandar Gujrathi (High-Performance Computing):
Mandar Gujrathi is a Technical Lead for Big Compute within Microsoft. He leads compute-intensive projects on Azure for industries in Energy, Resources, Education Research and Health within Asia Pacific. Before joining Microsoft Mandar was a Senior Applications Engineer with MathWorks until May 2018. He has been a lead speaker in several conferences, workshops, and training events in commercial, academic and medical space. Prior to MathWorks he held several academic positions at the University of Queensland until 2012. Mandar holds a Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Ms. Shalaka Verma (Quantum Computing on Microsoft Azure):
Shalaka currently leads a team of Global Cloud Solution Architects in Microsoft as Director, Partner Technology. In her current role, she drives technology adoption of Azure Platform via Industry Specific Solutions built with Partners. In her extensive career, across Research, Development and Technical Sales, she has delivered several first of its kind wins for AI platforms, Database Platforms, Hybrid Cloud and Always ON Architectures. She is well conversant in Quantum Computing and was chosen to be the first Quantum Ambassador for IBM in the ISA region. She started out her career as a Scientist in HPC at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and subsequently worked in research of GSM protocols for a global start-up ( Mobileum Pvt Ltd.). Shalaka has strong technology R&D Leadership- Has Filed three US patents in blockchain, Storage Virtualization and Big Data, one of which has already been commercialized and converted into a licensed product feature. In her earlier roles, she has pioneered futuristic application pilots for Mobile Value Added Services and has also been awarded Gold Medal (from honorary Prime Minister of India) for achievements as a computer scientist in BARC.
