Description
Almost all the visible universe is extremely hot, dense and violent. Just look up at the stars or ponder the depths of planets.
Is it possible to ‘mimic’ such conditions in the lab - controllably, repeatedly and reliably?

If yes, can we get a peek into such violent scenarios right on a tabletop?

Our group has been probing this question for many years, using high intensity light.

In this latest edition, we bring to you, our observations of matter under intense pressures seeing dramatic changes as they happen, where they happen.

How do we do this? Why do we do this?

We will be happy to tell you in this Colloquium.

             Pl. come!
