Description
In many industrial, strategic, and basic research areas, a pulsed power system with tailor-made specifications is inevitable. The pulsing of current or voltage applied across the device increases its throughput without any increase in average power demand. Moreover, renewable resources such as wind, solar, tidal, etc., have been widely adopted across the globe to meet the ever-increasing energy demand and focus on sustainable development. However, both these application areas require novel, efficient and robust power converters such as DC-DC, DC-AC converters, etc. In this regard, CSIR-CEERI has developed solid-state devices-based high voltage pulse power supplies in the range of 10 kV- 80 kV for various microwave tubes and other applications. The developed systems are modular, scalable, and provide flexibility in their operational parameters. CSIR-CEERI has designed, developed and deployed power-sharing renewable energy-based DC microgrid system, which is suitable for remote area electrification. The team has developed various power converters for solar photovoltaic system such as 5hp deep tube well pump drive, solar-PV based electric vehicle charging station, etc.
