Description |
Over the past decade, there has been significant progress in our understanding of holography in flat spacetimes initiated by a study of asymptotic symmetries and soft theorems. In this talk, I will explain what asymptotic symmetries are, discuss their relationship to soft theorems in quantum field theory, and the central role that they play in holography. Outside of holography, these developments have also led to a better understanding of the infrared sector of gauge and gravitational theories. |
