Measurement of the differential cross section for 𝐭𝐭̅production in boosted phase space of dileptonic channel

Description
The top quark production along with its antiparticle partner (tt̅) is an extremely vital process since that constitutes a major background for many beyond-the-standard-modelsearches. The CMS and ATLAS experiments have reported that the top quark’s transverse momentum (𝑝T) spectrum in this process exhibits a steeper fall in experimental data compared to theoretical predictions. At the CERN LHC, we have access to a high centre-ofmass energy, enabling us to conduct a study on boosted top quarks. A leptonic top tagger was developed to identify such high-𝑝T tops using large radius jets. In this talk, I will present the updates of our studies on measuring the tt̅ cross section in the dilepton final state with the help of our in-house developed top tagger. Towards the end, I will also present the results of my isolation study of Level-1 tau objects and the performance check on Level-1 tau triggers.
