Description
Neutron Stars are exotic objects formed after a supernova explosion. They exhibit extreme properties and are observed as pulsars. Pulsars are known for their remarkable rotational stability. Despite their high stability, two types of timing irregularities are observed in pulsars: glitches and timing noise. Glitches are the sudden spin of pulsars and timing noise is the wander in the spin period of the pulsar. These phenomena can help us peak into the interior of such stars. In this talk, I will present the various results obtained as a part of by timing a sample of young pulsars with the upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) and Ooty Radio Telescope (ORT) to detect glitches and study timing noise. I will also highlight a few theoretical aspects of this study.
