Description
Even with over 5000 exoplanets discovered, surprises still await. I will discuss new discoveries and results from the HPF and NEID precision radial velocity spectrometers highlighting the new parameter space these instruments are enabling us to explore include rare planet discoveries around the lower mass stars that challenge our understanding of planet formation, new discoveries of giant planets around the more massive M dwarfs, and new insights into the exospheric escape with the He10830 A line. In addition, I will discuss the challenges of stellar activity, and new observational and analytic efforts that are attacking this problem to enable the discovery of terrestrial planets in habitable zones around the nearest stars.
