Description
In this talk, we will discuss the attractor mechanism for the extremal
black holes which do not preserve any supersymmetry. We will construct
examples of such black holes in the type IIA string theory
compactified on a Calabi-Yau manifold. These black holes are very much
similar to their supersymmetric counterparts. However there are some
important differences between them. For example, the issue of
stability for the non-supersymmetric black holes remains to be
verified explicitly. We will discuss this issue in some what detail
and see the effect of quantum corrections on it.
