Description
The Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) is a six-meter telescope situated at 5200 m in the Chilean Andes, and is currently observing the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) at arcminute resolution in the 148, 220 and 280 GHz bands. Analysis of the first six months of ACT observations is currently underway, and interesting results are emerging. I will briefly describe the instrument and the observations made so far, present some preliminary results, and discuss future directions.
