Description
We will discuss a new approach towards constructing a nonperturbative effective framework for large N QCD that can combine weakly coupled and strongly coupled degrees of freedom over a very wide range of energy scales and which has the marginal perturbative couplings only as the effective parameters. This approach combines perturbative QCD with holographic duality using renormalization group techniques as a tool – the dual gravity for the infrared and the interactions between soft and hard degrees of freedom should be derived from first principles. Although the construction is not
complete, we will discuss important advances and outline the concrete steps for realizing it fully in the near future. We will discuss a model for QGP formation and thermalization which brings in novel dynamical complexities that are not present in other approaches. We will also discuss a toy model in which we will realize all principles needed for the full nonperturbative field theory construction in the large N limit.
