Description
I will discuss some paradigm lattice QCD calculations where lattice QCD can offer precision tests of low energy (~ 1 GeV) QCD and weak sector of the Standard Model of particle physics against experiment and improve constraints on new physics. This will include calculation of hadronic vacuum polarisation contribution to muon g-2, and extraction of CKM matrix elements from semileptonic decays. Also, I plan to discuss briefly how lattice QCD can go beyond the precision tests and explore low-energy hadronic physics yet unexplored in experiments, for example, in the calculation of the pion electromagnetic form factor (at high momentum transfer), or the studies of the resonances in the coupled channel scattering.
