About the Speakers:

Mr. Harish Mehta was the driving force behind galvanizing the IT industry in India by co-founding NASSCOM, the IT industry’s association. He was elected as the first Chairman of NASSCOM and continues to be the Convener of NASSCOM’s Chairman’s Council. He has also founded and mentored the Onward Group of companies. He has been awarded ‘25 years of Exemplary Contribution to Indian IT’, by PM Narendra Modi, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, by the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ‘CEO of the Year’, by NMIMS, Tata HRD Network, and World HRD Congress. Mr. Mehta did his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) and Masters in Computer Science from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, New York. He served as the Director, COEP during 2010-15.

After an academic career in Theoretical Physics in IIT Kanpur, Northeastern University, Boston, IIT Bombay and Bombay University spanning 1972-84; Shivanand Kanavi turned to Economic Consulting (1984-92) and later to Business Journalism (1992-2004), He was the Executive Editor of India's pioneering business magazine Business India. He then joined Tata Group (2004-2013) as Vice President in TCS the largest and pioneering IT services company in the world. He is the author of widely acclaimed books; "Sand to Silicon: The amazing story of digital technology" and "Research by Design: Innovation and TCS".
