An interesting angle at the LHC

by Dr. Vikram Rentala (University of Arizona)

at Colaba Campus ( AG-69 )
Description
The first part of this talk is about spin measurement of new particles at the LHC using the azimuthal angular distribution of decay products from a parent particle whose spin we wish to measure. This technique is model independent and relies only on simple angular momentum rules and quantum mechanics. In the second part of the talk we discuss WZ scattering at the LHC. We find that the same azimuthal angle can be used as a probe of a strongly coupled Higgs sector.
