Description
The standard LCDM cosmological model is founded on the assumption of
homogeneity or quasi-homogeneity of the energy-density of the Universe. However, in the
era of ''precision'' cosmology which is currently claimed to be our new deal, the effect
of the observed inhomogeneities, i.e. the large scale structures, cannot be ignored.
Therefore, inhomogeneous cosmology using exact solutions of Einstein's equations has
become a rapidly expanding field of research. I will give an update of its most recent
developments and an overview of its future goals.
