Description
``God made the bulk, but the devil put the boundaries'' So said W. Pauli.

On boundary of some bulk there generically arises edge states localised at the boundary. The play important role in blackhole states, quantum hall states, in ads/cft as well as several other contexts, leading to novel behaviour of the systems. We will point out the origin of these and consider specifically fermionic edge states in simple cases. We also consider novel situations when the boundaries are moving.
