Description
A certain class of disordered theories near criticality has
characteristics exactly similar to the critical point of the same
system, in two dimensions less and without the disorder. This peculiar
phenomenon, called Parisi-Sourlas dimensional reduction, happens due
to a supersymmetry conjectured to exist at the disordered fixed
point. Various numerical results verify the dimensional reduction,
while others have found counter-examples. Several proposals explaining
the exact mechanism exist in literature, although a consensus is still
lacking. I will try to give a consistent picture summarising this wide
state of art.
