Description |
Physics motivation of charged lepton fla- vor violation (cLFV) with muons, which has attracted much attention from particle physics theorists and ex- perimentalists, is discussed. The experimental pro- gram at J-PARC (COMET) to search for muon to electron conversion, which is one of the cLFV pro- cesses, at a sensitivity of better than 10−16 is presented. The COMET experiment is stage-1 approved at J- PARC. Future prospect to search for the same process at a sensitivity of better than 10−18 (PRISM/PRIME) is also mentioned. And the R&D for the COMET and PRISM will be given, together with the on-going project to construct a muon source of 108 muon/sec at Osaka University (the MUSIC project) |
