Description
Multiferroics materials are those materials where at least two ferroics properties co-exist. The discovery of multiferrocity in TbMnO3 attracted many researchers to involve in this fascinating field because of the strong coupling between ferroelectricity and magnetism. After that many new materials have been discovered which show strong magnetoelectric (ME) coupling. To the search of new multiferroic materials, oxides are the best candidates. Lots of studies have been performed to explore the multiferroic properties of pervoskites, however, very few studies were reported for spinel oxides. I shall talk about multiferroic properties (dielectric, magnetodielectric, pyroelectric and magnetoelectric coupling) of different materials: ACrX2 (A=Cu, Ag and X=O and S), -CaCr2O4 and ACr2O4 (A=Fe, Co and Ni) spinels.
