Recently proposed mechanism, namely, sample space reducing (SSR) stochastic process is of interest as this offers an explanation of scale-invariant features associated with complex systems. In the SSR, the size of sample space or the number of allowed states stochastically decreases as a function of time, while the generalized case is termed as noisy SSR process where the size of sample space may expand occasionally.
