We calculate the elliptic genus of two dimensional abelian gauged linear sigma models with (2,2) supersymmetry using localization techniques. These models flow in the infrared to non-linear sigma models whose target spaces are non-compact Kahler manifolds with U(N) isometry and with an asymptotically linear dilaton direction. In the best studied example of the supersymmetric cigar CFT, the elliptic genus is known to be the modular completion of a mock-Jacobi form, which can be written as an Appell-Lerch sum. We show that modular completions of more general Appell-Lerch sums can also be realized as observables in the cigar CFT. |
