In the Standard Model calculation of the Muon g-2 the hadronic contributions are solely responsible for the final uncertainty. I will review the calculation of both the hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) as well as (more briefly) the hadronic light-by-light contributions, with both the analytic as well as with the lattice approach. In particular, the discrepancy between the data-driven and BMW lattice calculation of the HVP contribution is a puzzle of current high concern, which I will discuss in detail.
